Apple Event 2024: What to Anticipate from September 9 Launches

Apple usually hosts three or four Apple events in a year to introduce new products. A spring event takes place in March or April, followed by the Worldwide Developers Conference in June, an iPhone and Apple Watch-focused event in September, and occasionally an October event that includes Macs and iPads.

Apple Event 2024 Date And Time

Apple’s next scheduled 2024 event will be Monday, September 9th, at the tech company’s headquarters in Cupertino, California. The theme of Apple’s event is “It’s Glowtime.”The event starts at 1:00 PM. EDT/10 a.m. PDT on Monday.

Apple’s September event will feature new flagship iPhone and Apple Watch models, as well as improved AirPods. Some of the things we expect are outlined below.

iPhone 16 series

The Apple event will unveil four new iPhone models: the iPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, and 16 Pro Max, as it has done in the previous years.

iPhone 16

The upcoming iPhone 16 series, which is scheduled for unveiling at the Apple event on September 9, might not change much about its design: it will be the same design as before but with minimal changes. The latest rumors suggest the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will sport a more slender camera module with vertically arranged lenses and an LED flash at the back panel. The sizes of both displays are said to be similar. It is assumed that the iPhone 16 series will have an innovative Action button and a Capture button, making it easier for people to take photos and videos.

iOS 18 will support new features along with AI enhancements and satellite messaging capabilities. The base models will also come with the new A18 processor, and probably, upgraded versions on the Pro models.

iPhone 16 Pro

Featuring larger display sizes at 6.3″ and 6.9″, the new iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max will be powered by Apple’s new A18 chip to deliver remarkable performance. For richer photo and video shooting, a “Capture” button will be added while retaining the Action Button in all models. The Pro models will also arrive with thinner bezels, updated camera systems, and brightness display using Samsung’s M14 OLED panel.

Other upgrades include WiFi 7, faster 5G with the Qualcomm X75 modem, and enhanced battery life through stacked battery technology. New color options will be “Desert Titanium,” among others. Storage will range up to 1 TB. That’s about it – likely these units won’t see a price hike beyond the iPhone 15 Pro family.

Apple Watch

Apple will update its Apple Watch line from top to bottom at Apple event 2024, which will introduce a new low-end Apple Watch SE, the mid-tier Series 10 model, and the Ultra 3. The Apple Watch Ultra will retain the same design but receive minor internal upgrades.

For the first time since the Series 7, a new, sleeker design will be sported by the Series 10, and, yes, somewhat larger screens. AI features are coming to other Apple devices, but on the watches, users are going to get relatively limited AI enhancements just for a future health coaching service. Though this one won’t be ready that soon, sleep apnea detection will be a new health function introduced. Hypertension detection should come, but it will be delayed.

AirPods

Apple is set to launch two new AirPods models to replace the second-generation and third-generation earbuds at the Apple event in 2024. Both will have improved audio quality, USB-C charging, and an AirPods Pro-like design. The mid-tier model will have a higher-end case with a speaker for easier location via Find My and include noise cancellation. A recent battery drain issue has been fixed.

Major upcoming features include hearing health enhancements, potentially transforming AirPods into hearing aids and testing devices, though these may be delayed. Additionally, a new version of the AirPods Pro and updated AirPods Max, featuring new colors and USB-C connectors, are in development but might be released later.
